Sharon Sue Madison, a heartwarming presence to all who had the privilege of knowing her, passed away on December 11, 2024, in Vincennes, IN. Born on October 3, 1937, in Freelandville, IN, she radiated love, humor, and selflessness throughout her 87 years of life.
Sharon’s life was defined not by her personal aspirations, but by her devotion to her family. She was the cornerstone of her home, embodying the role of a homemaker with joy and unparalleled dedication. Her nurturing nature was also expressed through her meticulous care for her husband, Larry Joe Madison, and her aging parents, Ralph Scott and Ruth Katherine “Heithecker” Phillippe, who all predeceased her.
Blessed with a large and loving family, Sharon is survived by her grateful children, Brian Madison (Sheri) of Vincennes, IN, Beth Perry (David of Crawfordsville, IN, Paula Peach of Vincennes, IN, Mike Madison (Michelle) of Vincennes, IN, Lynne Candler (Kevin) of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Scott Madison (Krystal) of Noblesville, IN. Her sister, Audrey Barker (Claude) of Ladoga IN, also remains to cherish Sharon’s memory. Her legacy extends to her 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold dear their time with her.
Sharon’s comedic spirit lives on in the laughter she instilled in them with her beloved Donald Duck impression. Her sister, Phyllis Jean Neighbors, predeceased her, but the memories they shared will continue to enrich the family’s history.
Sharon was a 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School. . Her faith was important to her, and she attended St. John’s Catholic Church.
Those who knew Sharon will remember her as a genuine game show enthusiast, an excellent cook, and a person whose love knew no bounds. Her selfless acts of kindness and joyful spirit were present in every meal she prepared and every hug she gave.
As the sun sets on her remarkable journey, the love and laughter she brought into this world will never fade. Sharon Sue Madison’s story is one of unwavering love and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Per her request, Sharon was cremated and a private celebration of life was held in her honor.
She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
