The Knox County Commissioners have approved a nearly million-dollar match for coming infrastructure work in Knox County.
The funding is a match of state-provided Community Crossing Matching Grant dollars. Knox County Highway Department superintendent Matt Holden wants to do the projects at once. Holden also expects to nearly double the required match, so more projects can be done in the coming construction season.
Holden told the Commissioners the match funding would come from areas they have used before to fund previous years’ C=C-M-G matches. The Commissioners approved the funding unanimously.
