The Knox County Commissioners report some progress in plans to tear down the old Poor Farm facility, and build a new Emergency Management Center. The new building will house Knox County E-911, the county’s Emergency Management Agency, and the County Coroner’s office.
The next step toward that work will be a set of soil borings on the future Emergency Center site. The group Geo-Tech will do the work for a total of 58-hundred dollars. The testing will be focused on and around the building’s footprint.
The next overall step toward construction is tearing down the old Poor Farm building. That is facing a minor delay, due to issues with power lines.
