One Seriously Injured, One Arrested in Southern Gibson County Accident

Gibson County Sheriff’s officials arrested a Henderon, Kentucky man following a weekend accident on State Road 165.
The accident happened when a truck driven by Yoaris Lopez was northbound on 165. Gibson County Sheriff’s officials claim Lopez crossed the center line, and struck a car in the opposite lane. The impact also caused a tire to strike a third vehicle on the roadway.
The un-named driver of the car allegedly struck by the truck suffered extensive serious injuries, and was cut out of the vehicle. Lopez suffered a fractured kneecap, and was treated at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
After release from the hospital, Lopez was charged with Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injuryby Accident. He was booked into the Gibson County Jail.
