The recent expansion of the Knox County Jail is being credited with a smoother process between inmates and Jail personnel. The expansion added another wing onto the Jail, resulting in a nearly doubled capacity.
County Sheriff’s Major Mike Fisher says the group who did the expansion did it right for the workers. Fisher also knows despite the overall calm at the Jail, some times of year are rougher than others,
The multi-year expansion also moved the County’s Community Corrections program from downtown Vincennes to the Jail campus on Old Decker Road.
