CenterPoint Energy Approved for Rate Increase

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has approved CenterPoint’s proposed rate hike following a unanimous vote. Kerwin Olson, executive director of the Citizens Action Coalition, said, “Customer bills are going up, and they’re going up a lot, and soon.”
In a 206-page order, the IURC outlined their findings, with Olson predicting a 20% increase in bills. The hike will roll out in phases, starting March 1, 2025, with a second phase in March 2026.
