IL Governor Pritzker Lays Out Budget Proposal for Fiscal Year 2026

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s 55.2-billion-dollar 2025 spending plans do not include new taxes.
      He unveiled the budget Wednesday afternoon in Springfield.
      The proposal also cuts health care for immigrant adults who don’t have legal status.
      Another proposal ensures medication abortion pills would remain legal in the state even if a federal ban is implemented.
      Pritzker mentioned that he was uncertain of how much federal funding he would receive from the Trump administration and how it would impact the Illinois budget.
