The state of Indiana will invest three-point-seven-million dollars to improve recycling accessibility.
The recycling rate for the state is just 19 percent, and the national average is 35-percent.
Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Deanna Garner says the state has come a long way since it started taking and reporting the numbers but adds more needs to be done.
Five organizations are sharing the money through the Recycling Market Development Program.
