Plans are moving forward toward construction work on the Bierhaus Flats Subdivision project. Developers got a 60 percent tax abatement on the land for ten years, as part of plans to build over 200 apartment units at that location.
Vincennes City Council approved the abatement Monday night. Council president Brian Grove expects work to begin there within a few weeks. Grove knows the public is behind the abatement, since the public—like Council—knows the housing need is there.
Bierhaus Flats is part of an overall plan to both build, and improve, various types of housing in and around Vincennes.
