The Vincennes-based Family Health Center is expanding its outreach to the community, with a coming Crisis Center. The 24/7 center is designed to help anyone going through various crises in their four-county territory. The Family Health Center serves Knox, Daviess, Pike, and Martin counties with offices in each county.
The crisis hotline number is 833-644-3575. Cher Wehrman is with the Crisis Health Center; she says all calls will be answered by knowledgeable people in the field. The Center will also get references from the three-digit crisis number 9-8-8. Wehrman says the Center does get reference calls from the three-digit national hotline.
The next step is construction of the Green Door Center. The facility will help both adults and children with up to 23 hours worth of care and counseling as needed. Again, help is available by calling 9-8-8, or toll free at 833-644-3575.
