Food banks in Indiana are being impacted by over one-billion-dollars in cuts for schools and food banks announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Feeding Indiana’s Hungry officials say they will keep doing what they can with their resources as they partner with eleven food banks in the state’s 92 counties.
They add the demand for help has been increasing every year and will keep growing despite the federal cuts.
The USDA said this week they are cutting two programs that help food banks and schools make purchases from local farmers.
