Knox County will use over 2 million dollars to pave and repair roads across the county this year. The money is a combination of state grant money, along with matching County funds.
Knox County Commissioner T-J Brink—himself a worker at INDOT—knows the funding is a great help—especially to protect those roads from water damage, /Brink also praises the Community Crossing Matching Grant program for helping rural areas pave places they otherwise could not do.
Knox County, and several smaller communities—including Bicknell—have to put up a 25 percent match for the funds. In Vincennes, due to its relatively larger size, has a 50 percent, or dollar for dollar, match.
