The school years is winding down—but law enforcement is still watching for various school-related violations.
The biggest enforcement is for school bus stop arm violations. Knox County Sheriff’s Department Major Mike Fisher restates the traffic rule for school buses. Fisher knows the problem is with people in a hurry to get somewhere while those buses are running.
In the North Knox school district, the stop arm enforcement is with attached cameras. Anyone caught on camera violating the law will be issued a citation through the mail. At this time, Sheriff’s department officials estimate the number of stop arm violators to be at least two a week.
