The United Way of Knox County has set July 23rd for its annual fall campaign kickoff. The kickoff has been moved up a month in the last couple of years to allow more efficient fund-raising activities.
Outgoing United Way of Knox County director Mark Hill reminds everyone this date is about a month earlier than the traditional kickoff time.
Other set dates are September 18th and 19th for the annual Days of Caring, and November first for the “Great Bowls of Fire” chili cookoff. Hill believes getting those dates nailed down early will help ease the transition to Scott Charleston as director.
Charleston has come to the United Way of Knox County after serving as an assistant manager at the Vincennes Lowe’s.
