The Indiana Legislature is spending its final session days looking at ways to adjust the new budget downward nearly two and a half billion dollars. That adjustment is needed after revenue forecasts came in that much below expectations.
Indianapolis Democrat Ed DeLaney says he expected this outcome. DeLaney also criticized individual and business tax cuts that he feels led to the budget shortfall. During a recent session, Legislative Democrats pointed to increasing so-called “sin taxes” on alcohol, tobacco, and gaming.
