Curb Work, Repairs Continue on Main Street, Prior to Paving

Crews continue preparatory curb work and more for the overall downtown Main Street project. The work iucludes curb ramps and other needed jobs prior to the main paving of Main Street.
Part of the work will be a continued replacement of trolley ties on Main between Sixth and Seventh. That work will have to happen before paving begins on that stretch downtown. Vincennes City Engineer John Sprague says that trolley tie removal is actually a continued effort of work that began in the 2010’s. Sprague also knows it will take a while for the curb ramps to be complete. He also reminds everyone that curb work is almost always a precursor to paving.

The Main Street work, along with other City projects, is part of the City’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program funding.
