The Vincennes Lincoln Alices eked out a 2-1 victory yesterday afternoon over Evansville Central in game moved to Hill Field due to rain in Evansville. The highlight late was a throw-out of the the tying run on the bases by catcher Cooper Collins.
Colton Wonning won the game on the mound with a seven0inning complete game performance, scattering eight hits and allowing onerun. Brady Anderson was the star at the plate for LHS, with two hits including a home run.
A late Rivet rally came up short, as the Patriots lose to Shakamak 7-5 at Saint Vincent Field. The Patriots scored three runs in the sixth to make it six-five, and had the tying runner thrown out at the plate. Shakamak then scored once in the seventh to secure the win.
Brody Shots and Jayden Thacker each had two hits to lead the way for Rivet. Jaden Thacker took the loss for the Patriots. The loss snaps a six-game wining dreah for Rivet; the Patriots now slip to 6-2 on the year.
The LHS softball team could only manage three hits in a 4-0 loss to North Daviess at Four Lakes Park. Matti Collins had two of those three hits, with Addy Alton gathering the other. Bradie Turpin took the loss on the mound for LHS.
The Clark Middle School boys track team won a dual meet over Princeton last night 67-42 to go to 2-4 on the season. Alice winners were Roman Lowe and Brayden Sanders in two events each, with single event wins for Reid Keller, Landon Carter, and Ray Somerville. Also, the boys’400 meter relaty team were also winners.
The CMS Girls Track team took a track win over Princeton 60-49. Several of the girls had Personal Records tonight.
