Construction will start soon on a new Vincennes Fire Training center. The winning bids were awarded last night by the Vincennes Board of Works. Four of the lowest bids were submitted by Wabash Uilities, with the fifth offered by Mann Excavating.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says the new facility will be set up on the south side of Vincennes. Mayor Yochum says the new center will be funded by the state of Indiana for use by any Indiana firefighter who wishes to use the facility.
No timetable has been set for the new training center’s construction at this time.
