Greer Hardin is set to sing a letter of intent to attend Vincennes University this afternoon at three-15. The signing ceremony will be in the lobby of Alice Arena at Lincoln High School.
Hardin will participate in track and field for the Trailblazers starting this fall. All are welcome to attend the signing ceremony this afternoon.
Despite some rain yesterday, some athletic events happened yesterday.
The Vincennes Lincoln Alices had a no-hitter through six innings, but saw a late Evansville Memorial rally close a 5-0 lead to 5-3. However, the Alices held on late and won by that 5-3 final. Brady Anderson and William Burgess teamed for the win for LHS.
Cooper Collins got the Alices off to a good start with a 2 run first inning homer to left field. Overall, Collisns led LHS with 3 hits on the game. Lincoln moves to 14-5 with the win; next up is a trip to Sullivan tonight to face the Arrows.
The Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices softball team was defeated at home \8-2 by North Posey. The alices had eight hits in the game, with four from Grace Archer and a home run from Miley Carie-Frederick. Lincoln slpis to 9-8; they face Castle tonight at six at Four Lakes Park. That game will be life-streamed on wzdm.com.
The South Knox tennis team moves to 12-2 with a 5-0 win against Barrr-Reeve. Lady Spartan winners included Alli Hayden, Grace Arnold, and Reagan Harrington. Doubles winners were Caroline Beard and Grace Carie, and Elaina Watjen and Emily Dreiman. South Knox won all five matches in straight sets.
Vincennes University went 1-1 yesterday at the Midwest Athletica Conference baseball tournament in Springfield, Illinois.
In game 1, the Blazers lost to Lincoln Land 9-2, before winning an elimination game 7-1 over Danville Area. Next up, the Blazers await the lower of the game between Parkland Community College and Lincoln Land. That game will go at thee this afternoon.
