KC Council Stands Firm Against County Invasive Species Repeal

The Knox County Council has unanimously approved a resolution opposing the repeal of two invasive species-related ordinances earlier approved by the Knox County Commissioners.
The repeal concerns 20 invasive species that do not show up on Indiana’s banned list but do appear on Knox County’s list.
The commissioners had earlier voted 2-to-1 to approve the repeal with Commissioner Kellie Streeter voting to keep the ordinances in place.
Commissioner T-J Brink called the ban on these plants “damaging” to small-business landscapers in the county, since they are available in all of Indiana’s other counties.
