The Knox County Council is still figuring up the impact of an approved tax cut earlier this year by the Indiana Legislature. County Council president Mike Morris knows even though the reduction isn’t as bad for Knox County, it will still per painful. At this point, Morris is not sure if—or how—the cuts would affect a proposed County building plan—especially for a new Emergency Operations Center.
Knox County departments will formally present their budget ideas to Council members during budget hearings in September. After that, Council members will consider what they must do to fit the departments’ budgets into the new overall County funding.
