Indiana’s healthcare system is about to take a massive funding cut—even as the state’s health is reportedly near the bottom of many national lists. Surveys show right now, Indiana is 45th in public health spending; that amount will be slashed by nearly 70 percent, due in part to a two million dollar budget deficit.
Many departments statewide feel many of their programs could be in jeopardy from those cuts. The total cut for health care would spiral from 170 million dollars down to around 40 million.
