Bid Opening for Emergency Operations Center Set for June 30th

The long-awaited bid opening for the coming Knox County Emergency Operations Center is planned for Monday, June 30th. The Knox County Commissioners will open the bids in a special session to be held that morning at nine a-m at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. The office is at 2325 Old Decker Road.
The bid opening is the next step in a planned placement of an Emergency Operations Center on the former Poor Farm property near Hart Street Road. The building would become the home for various emergency departments—including Knox County Central Dispatch. Currently, the Central Dispatch is located in the former Knox County Jail building, across from the Knox County Courthouse.
The bid opening is open to the public.
