Thousands of Indiana families will face challenges accessing state-funded preschool next year due to drastic cuts to the On My Way Pre-K program.
Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year will be reduced by more than half, with stricter income requirements leaving many families ineligible for support.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration announced an enrollment cap of 2,500 students statewide, down from over 6,000 in the current school year.
Changes in funding, including the decision to no longer use federal money, are driving these cuts to focus resources on families with the greatest need.
