A contractor has been named to eventually restore the dismantled façade of the Clark Memorial Bridge in downtown Vincennes. The bridge has been in a waiting pattern over the last few years, with the stones sitting in part of the French Commons.
George Rogers Clark National Park chief Ranger Joe Herron says the good news is the same crew that took the façade down will put it back up. Herron says the bad news is the process to put the stones back up will take quite a while to complete.
The bridge area is under the oversight of the National Parks Service in Washington, DC, since it is part of the G-R-C’s territory.
