A line of severe thunderstorms pounded the area late yesterday afternoon. The biggest threat was high winds; those winds left some downed trees and tree limbs in its wake. Parts of Knox, Gibson, and Pike Counties were among those under severe thunderstorm warnings for the line of storms that came through the area.
Now that the severe weather is through, hot weather is forecast. Temperatures in the area are expected to top 90 by Saturday, and continue in the 90’s through early next week. Triple digit heat indices are also possible with the expected heat wave.
