The first heat wave of the summer is here—with temperatures in the mid-90’s over the weekend, and more 90’s forecast for much of this week. With the actual hot temperatures, heat indices could hit the lower triple dights. With that comes heat-related illness.
Even with the heat, the National Weather Service doesn’t expect to issue a heat advisory. The threshold is a 105 degree heat index; forecasters believe it will get near—but not reach or exceed—that level.
