The Vincennes Board of Works has granted the City of Vincennes over 55-thousand dollars as a payment in lieu of taxes, or PILOT. The payment continues a long tradition of PILOT gifts by the V-H-A in exchange for public services they receive. Since the Vincennes Housing Authority is a public entity, it is not required to pay taxes.
Also, Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum swore in new City fireman Josiah Mackey yesterday. Mackey was introduced as the City’s newest firefighter by City Fire Chief Brett bobe. He has already started his duties with the Vincennes Fire Department.
