Boonville’s Mayor is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash in the parking lot of the Boonville VFW on May 14th.
Indiana State Police say 71-year-old Mayor Charles Wyatt has been summoned into court on the misdemeanor charge. The case will be heard through Warrick Superior Court.
Wyatt is accused of backing into another vehicle and leaving the scene.
The owner of the other vehicle was in their car at the time and was able to get a license number. After a review, a criminal charge of Leaving the Scene of a Crash was filed. Due to a conflict of interest, a Knox County official will be named as Special Prosecutor in the case.
