The recent rains that caused some flash flooding earlier this week has not affected overall rivers’ flood levels. Both the Embarras at Lawrenceville, and the White at Petersburg, are cresting or have topped just below flood stage. The other river nearing its bankfull is the Wabash at Mount Carmel, but that area is not expected to flood either. Upriver, the Wabash at Vincennes has stayed below ten feet for the duration of the week.
All reporting stations on area rivers forecast waters lowering in coming days—especially with drier weather moving in, at least through the weekend.
