A November 4th trial date is set for the man charged with the shooting death of a woman in the parking lot of the 6th Street Cardinal Liquor Store in Vincennes. The trial date was set yesterday by Knox Circuit Court Judge Monica Gilmore.
32-year-old Dylan Smith and 30-year-old Taylor Hendershot, both from Vincennes, had been in a prior relationship and had a child together. Smith allegedly shot Hendershot Tuesday afternoon while she was sitting in her car.
After the shooting, Smith left the scene in an SUV and was involved in a crash a few blocks away.
He then fled into a house on Carbon Street armed with a knife. During a standoff with police, a vapor grenade was used to force him outside. Smith was then taken into custody.
He is being held without bond in the Knox County Jail.
