The Knox County Council is about a month away from its annual week of hearings for the 2026 budget. Traditionally, the first two days of budget week are set aside for departments to set their budget requests, with the last two days set for active budget setting for the next year.
Knox County Council president Mike Morris knows a lot goes into the setting the County’s budget lines each year. Morris also realizes how important it is to take care of their most valuable commodity—their workers.
After the budget is set, it must be approved by the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance before it is actually useable for the 2026 calendar year.
