Next Indiana Operation Pull Over Blitz Starts Saturday

Area law enforcement agencies are preparing for a crackdown on drunk driving as part of the annual Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute will provide funding for extra police work to ensure drivers don’t hit the road while drunk. This year’s Operation Pull Over runs from August 16th through 30th.
Last year, the numbers show 14 percent of all fatal accidents were due to drunk driving, and 35 percent were caused by drug impairment. Police have used various enforcement tactics—including saturation patrols—to ensure effective enforcement during the Operation Pull Over campaign.
