Vincennes Community Schools Superintendent Greg Parsley is advertising a 2026 budget that is just over three million dollars over the estimate for this year. The overall proposal is for just over 44-million dollars.
Over half of the proposed funding is in education, with that total just over 24.2 million dollars. The Operations budget totals over 10.6 million dollars, with around 4.6 million for debt service. The other four million dollars will be part of the school’s Rainy Day Fund.
The advertised tix rate will come in a bit over a dollar-32 cents per 100 dollars in assessed property value. That is down from this year’s original estimated rate of nearly a dollar-39 cents per hundred.
The budget will be considered at a public hearing before a final vote is held. Following approval, it must be approved by state financial officials before it will be valid for next year.
