AES to Hold Hearings on Rate Increase

Affected residents can voice their opinions on AES Indiana’s proposed 13.5% electricity rate hike at two public meetings with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. AES has an area power generation plant in Petersburg, and affects some Pike County electric users. It is also the main electric provider for the City of Indianapolis.
The rate increase is attributed to rising costs of materials and labor, infrastructure investments, and storm response expenses. The Citizens Action Coalition has been hosting town hall meetings to discuss the proposed hike.
