Vincennes City officials are coming together to set the wheels in motion toward the 2026 calendar year budget. The budget will be made in preparation for a loss of City revenue, due to statewide property tax cut approved earlier this year.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says even though this year may be tough for budgeting, 2027 will be worse. Mayor Yochum encourages anyone concerned about the budget to come and see the numbers for themselves.
The Mayor also says with the cuts, some services cou ld also be affected. Vincennes isn’t alone either; many municipalities and counties are dealing with the same lack of funds for their future budgets.
