In volleyball:
The South Knox Spartans lost in five sets to Washington last night. The Lady Spartans took two of the first three sets, before the Lady Hatchets won the last two, including the decider 15-10. Janet West led with 12 kills and 15 points. Makayla Carie had 12 points and 15 assists, Jenna Bloebaum added 11 kills, Ava Steffey added 16 assists, and Braelyn Gladish contributed 21 digs.
In girls’soccer:
The Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices lost 9-0 to Evansville Mater Dei.
The Rivet Lady Patriots lost 3-0 to Terre Haute South. Rivet’s soccer team is now 3-1 on the year.
The South Knox Lady Spartans lost 2-1 to Evansville Christian. Ava Babrick gave South Knox a 1-0 lead, but Evansville Christian scored two goaqls to win it. The South Knox girls soccer team is now 2-1 on the year.
In tennis:
Vincennes Lincoln defeated Reitz 4-1. Alice winners included Carter Johnson at number two singles and Reid Hall at Number 3 singles Both doubles teams were also winners—including Dayton Piper and Conner Hahn, and the team of Willian Burgess and Jadon Miller.
The South Knox tennis team dropped a 3-2 match to Linton. Both wins for the Spartans came in doubles, with the teams of Max Garner and Maddox Sargent, and and Carson Arnold and Cooper Neal both victorious.
In middle school sports:
Clark Middle School lost to Jasper 8-0. Kai Muranaka led the defense with 10 tackes, including three for loss, and one sack. Quarterback Daveon Jennings was 6 for 10 for 41 yards.
