If you plan to launch a boat onto Patoka Lake this Labor Day weekend, there will be one less place to launch for the near future.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will close the boat ramp at the Patoka Lake Tailwaters for the time being. That is due to unseasonable high water levels on the lake.
The request came from the U-S Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps is closing that access ramp so they can release water from the nearby Patoka Dam. Once the water levels are lower, that access site will re-open.
