Vincennes City Council is considering a revision of parts of the Vincennes Police Department handbook. The issue was brought up in a recent discussion with state officials over the handbook’s language.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum wants to handle the matter in house. However, Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove wants a professional eye on it to ensure the City is covered. Both Grove and City Councilman Marc McNeece pushed for a professional labor attorney to ensure the handbook changes protect the City. Grove says regardless of what they choose, it will not be brought back up until later next month.
Mayor Yochum is joining an Indiana contingent on a trip to Japan early next month. That unit is being headed up by state business officials,
