In volleyball:
The Vincennes Lincoln Alices defeated Pike Central in four sets last night at Alice Arena. The Alices dropped the first match 22=25, before winning the last three 25-14, 25-22, and 25-19. Alivia Eaton led with 11 kills and 10 points fir the Lady Alices. Marlo Thorne had nine points, nine kills, and two blocks. Also, Olivia Lange had 8 points and 9 digs, while Hadley Piper added 24 assists and eight digs. The Lady Alice JV defeated Pike Central in two sets.
In soccer:
The Rivet boys’ soccer team stung the Mitchell Bluejackets 5-2. Mitchell took a 1-0 lead early, but Rivet Patriots saw Mitchell lead 1-0 early before goals by Brady Stearns, Cam Franklin, and Layne Willis. Mitchell cut the lead to 3-2, but goals by Holden Manion and Giovanni Ralston put the game away.
The Rivet Lady Patriots were also winners, as they shut out Barr-Reeve 4-0. Lady Patriot goals included two from Leela Gilmore, and one each from Kevi Black andf Elle Stoelb.
In tennis:
The Lincoln tennis team lost 5-0 to Bar-Reeve.The loss drops L-H-S to 5-1 on the year.
In golf:
Pike Central defeated LHS in Petersburg 181 to 214. L-H-S golfer Daylin Thompson was medalist for the match, with a low score of 43.
In junior high sports:
The Lincoln High school 8th grade football team lost on a late touchdown by Evansville Reitz, 12-6. Quarterback Daveon Jennings was 10 for 14 on the night for 96 yards to pace the Alices.
The Clark Middle School tennis team lost 5-0 to Princeton.
The Rivet Junior High volleyball team split with Princeton. The Rivet 7th grade won in two sets, 25-21 and 25-19, while the 8th grade lost in two, 18-25 and 21-25.
Road trips beckon for both Knox County football teams tonight. The Vincennes Lincoln Alices take a 1-0 record to the Reitz Bowl to face the Reitz Panthers. Game time is 07:30; you can hear it on 92.1, WZDM.
The North Knox Warriors take an 0-1 record to Little Cincinnati as they face the Eastern Greene T-Birds. Kickoff is at 7 pm; hear the game on 105.7, WUZR.
