November fifth is the expected start date for a new fire training center to come to Vincennes. Vincennes Fire Chief Brett Bobe announced the date at yesterday’s Vincennes Board of Works session.
The tower will be built by the State of Indiana as part of an overall plan to increase fire training for various departments across the area. Wabash Utilities won three of the bids for the center, with the other going to Hendrixson Concrete. The winning bids totaled just under 90-thousand dollars.
The facility will be built on the south side of Vincennes. Once complete, the training area will be available for use to any fire department who wishes to use it.
