Vincennes City and Vincennes Township Fire Departments are honoring victims of the 9/11 attacks with a huge American flag display again this morning. For 23 years, since September 11th, 2002, the large flag has hung over the Hart Street overpass at U-S 41 in Vincennes.
The display first happened on September 11th, 2002—one year after the terrorist attacks killed over three-thousand people at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The tribute has been supported over the years by many vehicles honking their support as they pass under the big American flag.
The flag traditionally hangs over the overpass during the hours of the tragic events on the morning of September 11th, 2001.
