The City of Vincennes is working on a planned pedestrian look running from Vincennes secondary schools to the Wabash River.
Part of the process is part of improvements to Richard Bauer Drive. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum expects that road and adjoining sidewalks to be complete within a few years. The other main sidewalk project is on Hart Street between 15th Street and the U-S 41 interchange. The City is doing the western part of that, from 15th to Veterans’ Memorial Drive; INDOT will then take over from Veterans’ Drive eastward to U-S 41. Once all that is done, the Mayor says the planned pedestrian walkway look will be complete.
The final part of the loop is the Vincennes Riverwalk, stretching from Main to Hart Streets Part of that work is going on now, with the City installing the sidewalk along Hart Street from 15th Street to Veterans’ Drive.
