Two Knox County Commissioners have shown their disagreement to a possible wheel tax in Knox County. Both Tim Ellerman the Second and kellie Streeter spoke against the issue at the latest Commissioners’ session.
Streeter has worked on behalf of all Indiana counties to separate the need for a wheel tax from the allocation of road improvement funds. She also believes different counties have different ways of ensuring local participation.
Streeter also reminds everyone if the tax is passed, Vincennes residents would have to pay the same tax twice…
Approval would have to come from the Knox County Council for all county license-holders, and Vincennes City Council for those with vehicles in Vincennes.
