The Vincennes City Council has approved its budget on first reading earlier this week. It must now go through another set of readings before it is put in place.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says that process will continue with the next Council session in mid-October. Mayor Yochum says two other pieces are also in place along with the budget—the Mayor’s salary ordinance, and a review by State budget officials.
In recent years, the state of Indiana has returned the budget for installation with the beginning of the new calendar year.
