Timothy Vernon Loafman, a cherished family man, skilled tradesman, and a friend to many, passed away on October 5th, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on August 1st, 1956, in Springfield, Illinois to Thelma Bristow White and the late Vernon Loafman. His 69 years of life were full of passion, creativity, and service, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Tim, or “Loaf” as his friends and family fondly called him, was a masterful diesel mechanic who dedicated many years of hard work to Rush Enterprises. His expertise and reliability were well-known, embodying the value of a true craftsman in every task he undertook. Beyond his professional achievements, Loaf was an extraordinary welder and a talented scrap metal artist. He was often found in his shop designing his next piece of art, breathing new life into forgotten treasures. He also had a love for old cars and Rat Rods.
His creativity extended into his community involvement, where Loaf served with conviction and generosity. His voice and dedication were influential in local institutions such as the Freelandville Improvement Club, Freelandville Sewer Board, and the Bruceville Rod and Gun Club. Loaf was also known for his camaraderie and shared spirit at the Charlie Flick Men’s Car Club. True to his kind-hearted nature, Loaf’s love for animals showcased his compassionate and caring personality, making him a friend to every creature he met.
Loaf was a member of the Pleasant Dale Baptist Church in Girard, IL. Here in Freelandville he was also affiliated with Bethel Church, Morris Chapel, & Freelandville Methodist Church.
Loaf’s legacy is lovingly preserved by his family who he valued above all else. He will be deeply missed by his grateful mother; Thelma Bristow White; wife of over thirty-one years, Vickie Jones Loafman children, Trever Loafman and his wife Misi of Nokomis, IL, Tyler Loafman of Springfield, IL, and Stefanie Monkman of Riverton, IL. His memory will also be cherished by his stepchildren, Adam French and his wife Brittany of Fairbury, IL, and Nathan French and Jenn of Lincoln, IL. Loaf’s warmth, laughter, and guidance will forever resonate with his eleven grandchildren; Dawsen, Kaeden, and Baylen Loafman, London and Brook Loafman, Jaxon O’Lynn, Kohen Monkman and Ivory, Ezra, Ava and Ezekiel French. Also leaving behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joining his father, Vernon Loafman, in eternal peace, Loaf was also preceded in death by two grandchildren; Cash Loafman and Vincent French. He leaves behind to honor him, his siblings, Tyna Loafman of Springfield, IL, Tom Loafman and his wife Debbie of Texas, and his stepmother, Judy Loafman of Effingham, IL.
Timothy Vernon Loafman’s life was a portrait of service, creativity, and a deep-rooted love for his family. We honor a man who lived fully, leading a simple life that exemplified strength, creativity, and a warm generosity that touched the hearts of many. His legacy and the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew him, as he dearly holds a place in the multitude of hearts he has left behind.
