The Indiana Girls High School Basketball season officially gets underway today. Vincennes
Rivet will be the first Knox County team to see action on November fourth at Shakamak.
North Knox follows on November 7th with an early season test at Washington. Defending Class 2-A
state champion South Knox begins its title defense at home on November 8th against Eastern Greene.
The Vincennes Lincoln Alices open up play on November 13th at Terre Haute South.
The sites have been set for Saturdays volleyball Regional Championships. At Bloomington North,
Jasper will play Greensburg in 3-A while Castle squares off agains Bloomington South in 4-A.
At Loogootee, the host Lions face Shakamak in Class A while Tecumseh meets Barr-Reeve in 4-A.
Moving to Mitchell, Class A action has Springs Valley taking on Christian Academy and in 3-A
Brownstown Central plays Heritage Hills.
A couple of Knox County Cross Country Teams and individuals have advanced to Saturdays Regionals at Angel Mounds In Evansville. South Knox has advanced as a team by placing third while Vincennes Lincolns Gage Williams, Lukas Dogget, Brody Francis, Tyler Luking and Garrett Duke move on as individuals. Also advancing was Brody Page of North Knox.
In the Girls race, North Knox will move on as a team by placing fourth. Advancing as individuals from Vincennes Lincoln were Kaylyn Ozment and Megga Luchtefeld. And moving on from South Knox were Sarah Nowaski, Alli Hayden, and Ana Smith.
The start time for this Tuesdays Cooper Collins signing has been moved back to 6:30 in the Lincoln Cafeteria.
Collins will announce which college he will attend to continue his baseball career.
The junior Collns has narrowed his list down to five teams—Texas A&M; West Virginia; Kentucky, South Florida, and Virginia.
Congratulations goes out to several Vincennes Lincoln Girl Soccer players who have been named to the ICGSA Academic All-State team. They include Javelin James, Maddy Mitchell, Jaylee Farrar, Gabby Neeley, Brylee Quinett, JJ Riggs, Ali Patricio And Lucy Wisley. To qualify, you have to be a junior or senior varsity player, and you have to maintain an accumulated 3.7 GPA or higher
