NK Board Approves 20 Million Dollar Budget

The North Knox School Board has approved its 2026 budget this week. The budget proposal was put out in the summer, with final Board approval happened at their most recent meeting.
The budget comes in around 20 million dollars, with the largest part of that in the Education fund. Overall though, Corporation officials are confident in their numbers, due to continued budget conservatism in the Corporation.
North Knox officials say the budget is among the lowest for tax levy statewide, even with a coming high school renovation project. Some of the reasons for the lower levy include budget frugality, and a higher assessed property value.
