McCormick’s Creek State Park is inviting the public to cut up and remove certain downed trees for firewood.
Trees eligible for firewood have fallen because of natural causes or have been dropped by property staff for safety.
Permit sales and cutting begin Monday, and end March 20th of next year.
The cost of a load for one pickup-truck with an 8-foot bed is $10.
Larger vehicles and trailers face additional charges.
A firewood permit must be obtained for each load at the park’s office between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
