Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputy Helps With Birth

      A Gibson County Sheriff’s deputy assisted in the birth of a baby girl early Thursday morning at the Flying J Truck Stop near Haubstadt.
      After Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a woman in labor there, Deputy Levi Sims, responded.
      Sims arrived within a minute of the fire and ambulance crews being dispatched.
      Ultimately Deputy Sims delivered the child and the young family was transported to an Evansville area hospital to continue medical care
      Later in the morning, the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office received a “Commend an Officer” report from the mother.
